Private Jet Charter to the NHL Finals

The Stanley Cup is the oldest and most prestigious sports trophy in North America. Named after Lord Stanley of Preston, who donated the trophy in 1892 when he launched a Canadian “challenge cup” to recognize Canada's top-ranking amateur ice hockey club, it was first won by the Montreal Hockey Club the following year. From 1915, the cup was shared between the champions of the USA’s National Hockey Association and Pacific Coast Hockey Association until the two organizations merged to become the National Hockey League (NHL) in 1926.

During the current 2017/18 season, 31 teams compete in an 82-game regular season which ends on April 8, 2018. Teams are divided into either the Western or Eastern Conference, with the winners of each conference facing one another in a best-of-seven series known as the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Championship match is held in early June, 2018.

The 2018 NHL All-Stars Skills Competition, one of the NHL’s most exciting and informal events which precedes the All-Stars Game and the Stanley Cup, has already played out with some surprising winners, setting the stage for the upcoming Stanley Cup Finals. Perhaps the biggest moment of the competition was when Marc-Andre Fleury, of newbie team the Vegas Golden Knights, shut down the competition with a flurry of acrobatic saves to win the Save Streak competition. The Skills Competition enabled the Vegas Golden Knights to cement their place as top contenders for the title.

Now all eyes are focused on the Pittsburgh Penguins, who could win the Stanley Cup for a third straight season this year. After defeating the San Jose Sharks within only six games in 2016 and emerging victorious against the Nashville Predators in a nail-biting final, the team is on track to make history this year. The last team to win three consecutive titles was the New York Islanders, who lifted four Stanley Cups from 1980-1983.
