Delivering automotive parts during a major port closure
Several automotive manufacturers needed our help to keep supply chains running when Atlantic storms put a major Moroccan port out of action. With huge sea swells preventing access to Tanger Med, a key hub for freight movements across Europe, air cargo services were the only way of getting critical parts where they needed to be. Our team got straight to work on a charter solution to avoid costly production line closures.
Our Solution
Routes: Tangiers & Casablanca > Europe
We knew local airports would be congested in the rush to get passengers and cargo out of Morocco, making it difficult to arrange aircraft charters at short notice, so we sent a member of our team to liaise directly with operators and handlers in Tangiers.
Having a rep on the ground delivering real-time updates enabled us to secure aircraft, landing slots, permits and airside support ahead of the competition. Our contact also oversaw each departure, resolving any last-minute issues quickly and efficiently.
We coordinated 74 flights over the course of a month, delivering automotive parts from Morocco to Spain, Slovakia, Portugal, Switzerland, Turkey, France, Germany and the UK. Our charters played a crucial role in avoiding supply chain shutdowns during the port closure.
