Supplementing an airline’s fleet during peak season
Expecting high demand for flights to the Caribbean during their summer season, an airline in Canada tasked us with arranging an aircraft lease to supplement their fleet. With no guarantee of how many flights the back-up plane would be needed for, we got to work on sourcing an aircraft and coordinating an agreement that worked for both parties.
Our Solution
Type of Lease: ACMI
Aircraft: Airbus A320
Our team had already brokered numerous leases for the period in question, so we were familiar with the market and knew exactly who to call. We got in touch with the lessor of an Airbus A320, who were looking to lease the aircraft during their own low season in Europe. After confirming availability, we arranged for the plane to be based in Canada for the duration of the lease and ironed out the terms of the contract.
Both parties benefited from the lease. The A320 flew frequently, enabling the lessee to meet seasonal demand and generating extra revenue for the lessor at a time when their aircraft would otherwise have been sitting unused in a hangar.
