Previously known as Phoenix Regional Airport, Ak-Chin Regional covers an area of 170 acres of land and is a public-use privately owned airport located 28 miles southeast of the CBD of Phoenix, Pinal County, Arizona. It is owned by the AK Chin Indian Community.

Phoenix Regional Airport was first constructed in 1999, but after then being purchased by the Ak-Chin Indian Community in 2006, it was finally renamed after the Community held month-long Airport Renaming Contest.
