Birchwood Airport is a state owned, public use airport located two nautical miles northwest of the central business district of Birchwood (also known as Chugiak), in the Anchorage Municipality of the U.S. state of Alaska. At 196 acres it is a smaller facility but does have two asphalt/gravel runways available which are listed as being in fair condition. It is a very busy airport conducting around 192 flights per day and basing a massive 308 aircraft. Traffic is split evenly between transient and local general aviation and several aviation services such as refueling and major airframe repairs are available.
