Blue Grass Airport is a public airport in Fayette County, Kentucky, four miles west of downtown Lexington. At 911 acres it is a medium to large sized facility with two runways available, one covered in asphalt and one in concrete. In 2007, Blue Grass Airport opened an extension of Concourse B, adding six boarding gates with 4 new jetways and in 2010 a new 4,000 foot runway, 9/27, opened replacing the previous 3,500 foot runway. The facility offers services such as refueling and major airframe repairs.
