India airport - body

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the second busiest airport in India, handling almost 800 aircraft movements a day and more than 30 million passengers a year. The airport boasts five terminals and 2 intersecting runways.

The airport is named after the 17th-century Maratha emperor, Chhatrapati Shivaji and its IATA airport code "BOM" is derived from Bombay, the former name of Mumbai.

The airport is actually two separate former airports – Terminal 1 (domestic flights) was previously Santacruz Airport and Terminal 2 (international flights) was Sahar Airport.

The new Terminal 2 houses the country’s largest collection of artefacts and works by Indian artists.
